Conference DATES, DAYS & TIMES

NTX XIX begins on Saturday, August 25, so travelers can take advantage of lower airfares by staying over a Saturday night. A Registration Mixer, and Poster Set-up are scheduled for Saturday Morning. The Conference opens Saturday Afternoon with a Keynote Address and Tutorials followed by an open bar and Welcoming Reception. The Conference closes after the evening awards dinner on Tuesday, August 28.

DoubleTree Hotel World Arena

The conference will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel World Arena located in Colorado Springs in the breathtaking landscape of the Pike’s Peak region. www.coloradosprings-travel.com. The hotel is just 15 minutes from the airport. Complimentary shuttle service from the Colorado Springs airport is available. Complimentary in-room coffee makers, coffee, irons and boards and an exercise room are also available. We have negotiated low room rates for NTX XIX participants: ($89/day-Single, $94/day-Double). Accreditation Designation of CME Credit

The University of Arkansas College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing education for physicians. The Office of Continuing Medical Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 20 hours in Category 1 Credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. We have also applied for 3.0 ABIH Certification Maintenance Points.

The Neurotoxicology Conference has arranged special discounted rates with Delta and American Airlines for travel originating in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. Low airfares are available for those who book well in advance and stay over a Saturday night. The discounted rates will provide savings of 10% off the lowest applicable roundtrip coach fare. An extra 5% discount will apply if tickets are purchased 60 days in advance. To take advantage of the special fares please call the Airline directly. All participants should make their own travel plans.

Poster Instructions

The Poster Session is a hi-light of this meeting. Papers will be presented from posters on Sunday afternoon, August 26, 2001. Papers will be grouped by topic and scheduled by title and authors in the Final Program. The author giving a poster presentation must be registered for the Conference; co-authors need not be registered. DISPLAYS: Each display mount is allotted a 4’ X 8’ space of poster foamboard mounted horizontally. Do not mount illustrations on heavy board, as they may not stay in position on the poster fiberboard.

$1000 in Student Awards

There will be $1000 in Pre- and Post-Doctoral Student Awards presented during NTX XIX. In addition to the best paper presented by a pre-doctoral or pre-medical student, an award will also be presented for the best post-doctoral paper presented. Selection of the Student Awardees will be made during the Poster Session. Note: All papers in competition for the Student Awards will be presented from poster. Criteria for judging will be sent upon receipt of abstract.
